Volunteers make the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative (NHFI) possible. Thanks to our Community Food Champions!
A Vital Role
Community Food Champions (CFC) organize NHFI programs and workshops in their communities. They’re champions for improving local access to healthy, sustainable, and traditional foods.
Become a CFC
Make a difference in your community as a CFC. Volunteer to help bring healthy foods and traditional skills home to your community.
CFCs are elders, knowledge holders, youth, and community members. We invite anyone with a passion for community health or food skills. As a CFC, you'll organize local programs and workshops. Share your skills, or partner with other knowledge keepers to learn with your community.
To learn more, contact your council office or our NHFI Program Manager.
Grow North Gathering
Grow North is an annual gathering for Community Food Champions, knowledge holders, and Elders.
This gathering is about growing together. We share food knowledge and skills that everyone can bring home to their communities.
